Yards & Sacks is a set of free material calculators for home and yard projects. You do not need an account, and nothing you type leaves your browser.

How we keep the numbers right

Every calculation is a small, separate function. Each one is tested automatically against hand-worked answers and published figures before a new version goes live. Examples are bag yields printed by concrete manufacturers, IRC stair limits, and standard volume and area formulas. The worked examples on each page are generated by the same code that runs the calculator.

Results are estimates for planning and ordering. Local building codes, your supplier's material data and site conditions take precedence.
